After Kevin Coyle left Cincinnati to take the defensive coordinator job in Miami, the Bengals have an open spot on their coaching staff. The Bengals could be in pursuit of Hall of Famer Rod Woodson who recently interned with the group back in 2010 as a defensive backs coach. Woodson could turn out to be a great addition to a great coaching staff put together by head coach Marvin Lewis.
Woodson has knowledge of both positions being that he himself was a seven time Pro Bowler as a corner and a four time Pro Bowler as a safety. Marvin Lewis hasn't settled on who Coyle's replacement will be and has been quoted as saying "there is no timetable" on the opening. Whoever the Bengals choose will have their hands full with young safeties Taylor Mays and Robert Sands. The Bengals could also be in the market for linebacker coach in the near future. I personally feel like Woodson would be a great hiring being that he has knowledge at both positions and has worked with the Bengals staff in 2010.
