Over the weekend the Pacers signed arguably one of the top free agent targets on the market with All Star power forward David West. West joins a young and talented Pacers team that is on the rise in the East. West provides consistency at the position and should develop into a decent tandem with Danny Granger.
Another rumor floating around is that the Pacers may not be done yet. A revisited trade that literally fell one minute short of last year's trade deadline has come alive. OJ Mayo could be on his way to join West in Indy. With a Mayo for Josh McRoberts swap in the works, the Pacers can immediately upgrade their starting lineup. Collison, Mayo, Granger, West; Hibbert is a quality starting five. The Pacers could be the 2012 Grizzlies and take the NBA by surprise next season. Kudos to Larry Bird who has pulled of an impressive offseason deals.
