The Jaguars finally pulled the trigger on the decision to fire Head Coach Jack Del Rio. At 3-8, The Jaguars have been a disappointment in a year where the AFC South was up for grabs with Peyton Manning nursing a neck injury. On defense the Jaguars stand tall among the elite defenses in the NFL at no. 3. The Jaguars offense has remained the team's Achilles heel this whole season led by rookie Blaine Gabbert.
Del Rio has been on the hot seat the past couple of years in Jacksonville and surprisingly stuck with the team when he was offered to coach at USC. A big factor in the firing may have been his decision not to call a timeout while the Jags were in position to win the game. The search for the new coach of the Jags will now begin. The Jaguars have also announced the sale of the franchise today. It will be interesting to see what drastic changes could be in store for the Jaguars.
