#TRSB: #Lakers Willing To Part With Bynum? #NBA #Lakeshow

Amid speculation that the Lakers may actually trade center Andrew Bynum, I don't see Bynum being moved unless the Lakers acquire Dwight Howard. The reason Bynum wasn't traded for Melo last year was due to owner Jerry Buss's son Jim Buss. Bus was the man behind the draft selection of Bynum in 2005. Bynum has been Jim Buss's draft gem and has established himself as the second best center in the NBA. The only knock on Bynum is his durability due to various knee injuries.

Bynum was arguably the most consistent force for the Lakers during the playoffs with Pau Gasol's horrid playoff play last year. Gasol should be the one that should be traded however Bynum has more potential. In comparison Dwight is obviously the better defensive player , but on offense Bynum holds the edge.

My belief is the Lakers could trade Bynum, but the asking price would have to be D12 and nothing less since Buss nixed the Bynum-Melo swap last year. For Orlando that would be a great deal with the scarcity of centers in the league. Bynum has had a history of injury problems, but the kid has shown potential offensively to be a dominant force in the league for years to come.

In the long run Bynum could close the gap or even become the better of the two if D12 doesn't improve his offensive low post game. Although Dwight would help the Lakers defensively, his offensive game is one dimensional and consist of dunks only. If the Lakers didn't pull the trigger on the Melo deal don't expect any other deal besides Howard to sway them.
