According to the Associated Press, The NBA season will be back starting with a triple header on Christmas day with a 66 game season. The Lakers, Heat, Celtics, Magic and Suns pushed for a deal to end the 149- day lockout and came to an agreement early Saturday morning .The 2011-12 season will kick of Christmas Day with the Celtics vs. the Knicks, an NBA finals rematch in Miami at Dallas, as well as the Bulls vs. the Lakers.
Training camps are aiming to be opened December 9, 2011, followed by an exhibition before tipoff on Christmas Day. The length of the deal is for 10 years, however both sides can opt out after year six. The BRI split is rumored to between 49 and 51 percent plus the owners also must spend 85 percent of salary cap on team payroll the 1st 2 years, then 90 percent of the cap in years 3 and on.
The NBA is back...now we can all rejoice that there will be a 2011-12 NBA seaon.
