My Top 5 NFL Defenses
1. Cincinnati - The young Bengals defense has been keeping the bengals in every game this year. For example the Bengals have not allowed an opponent to score in the 4th quarter all season. And with an eight man rotation on the defense, they are an offensive lineman's worst nightmare in terms conditioning and athleticism.
2. San Francisco- As the number one rushing defense (don't forget Patrick Willis). This defense is fast, athletic, and strong. With the emergence of LB Navorro Bowman, their front seven is something to be afraid of. Only concern I have is the fact their pass defense is 22nd in league, however when it counts they keep teams from scoring.
3. Baltimore- This team is ferocious, physical, and unrelenting. With Terrell Suggs and Ray Lewis this defense is loaded with talent. The Ravens are weak in one area and thats the secondary. They may be young but they make plays. Ed Reed, the best safety in the league in my opinion, holds this secondary together. The Ravens were still able to slow down the speedy receivers of Pittsburgh.
4. Pittsburgh- This defense is a spitting image of the previous team but with a more below average secondary. Also this defense is old, I mean really old. Their front seven is exceptional when healthy, but thats the problem. When healthy, they are still a nasty & battle ready defense
5. Philadelphia- Yeah I know this one is a surprise but the eagles defesnse is ranked 2nd in total yards allowed. When that secondary gets rolling opposing quarterbacks better beware of all three CBs. Their rush defense is suspect, but when their pass rushers (Trent Cole and Jason Babin) are healthy they cause QBs to hesitate. Athletic, good pass rush, and a fantasy secondary.. scary for any NFL team
