With starting quarterback Matt Schaub out for the remainder of the season, the Texans will need to come together under the former first round pick Matt Leinart. At USC Leinart ran a legendary college offense with the likes of running back Reggie Bush and wide receiver Mike Williams. The 2004 Heisman Trophy winner has been considered a bust so far in the NFL and has not displayed adequate arm strength.
Leinart will have the bye week to prep for his debut. The Texans will lean on Leinart as their guy to hold the division lead from the Titans. The Texans are expected to come out run heavy out of the bye week to help open things up for Leinart. In order for the passing game to be consistent, wide receiver Andre Johnson must get healthy.If Matt Leinart wants to resurrect his career in the NFL he has been given this chance. The question is what will he make of his opportunity to start ?
